- Affordable. Good location.
- Nice place to stay. Close to a great sakura park.
- The location is superb. It is so convenient and many small restaurants around. I love this location. Will come back again.
Cons -
- A/C was very loud. Smoking room smelled bad. Receptionists do not speak English.
- Small rooms.
- I have indicated the estimated time I check-in (4pm) but I was early (2.30-3pm). To my surprised, they don't allow me to check early but only at 4pm. This is rather annoying and I have to sit there and wait because it was raining outside till exact 4pm. I hope they can be alittle flexible on this.

Breakfast was really good; I didn’t expect such a variety of dishes. The hotel is in a very good location and has everything you need for your stay. Great value for money.
all was good
Breakfast was ok.A bit oily to my taste but was may he sub standard for what you can get in nearby kombinis and shops but still very good value for money.
May be the staff a bit more conversant in english but really a small thing as through gestures and specific words communication went fine
Great location for visiting the west of Tokyo, and very close to the gardens. Convenient for Shinjuku station. Good breakfast.
Beds were a bit hard.
The place was in the heart of Shinjuku and close to a metro station.
Beds and pillow are uncomfortable.
The location is excellent! 2 min walk to station! Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden is right nearby. Restaurants and shops all around! Even a smoking bar across, on the corner...and a convenience store on the way to station. The rooms are very small by western standards, but the price is so good that we each had our own room; which was perfect! ** Ask for a room on the 13th floor with an odd number! I stayed in 1311 and had a fantastic view if the Shibuya skyline and the massive gov't building** Have a great time in Tokyo!
The breakfast got quite old after the first week. It is very Japanese, which is understandable, but it would be nice to have more variety. Be prepared to use Google translate with the front desk people.
Squeaky clean. 3-5 min walk from a train station. Restaurants all around. Walking distance to Shinjuku.
The staff is very friendly, attentive and always willing to help you. The room is cleaned on Fridays, but that doesn't mean the hotel is dirty (it's up to each person to have the room as they like). The location is excellent since there is a subway station one block away and a convenience store nearby.
I only wish there was more variety at breakfast, maybe add milk and something, but considering the price of the hotel it's understandable. Even so, everything was very good.
there is a train station and Lawson 2min walk from hotel, very convenient. our room is equipped with all the basic things we need. coin laundry just next to the front desk. you can have drinks from the vending machines while waiting for the laundry. they provide hot and cold drinking water machine, and an ice cube machine in the lobby. fresh towel every day, and amenities can just replenish from the front desk counter. we love the daily Japanese breakfast, simple and delicious! there are also a few local restaurants and coffee shops within walking distance.
the room is a bit small but still allowed to open 2 28-inch big luggage at the same time.
Good location. Great price due to booking well in advance. Instant coffee sachets available, which is different from other Toyoko Inns I have been to previously. Nice firm bed and good shower. No step up into the bathroom, which is good for older people/ those of us with sore knees.
I made the booking six full months ago, and at the time I specifically requested a quiet room away from the elevator. I arrived to find I had been given the absolute closest room to the elevator, literally directly opposite it. To have a simple request not just ignored, but seemingly mocked, is extremely poor customer service. I spent my entire four night stay listening to people coming and going, and the sound of the elevator doors opening and closing. The hot water took FOREVER to come through, wasted a lot of water. Bath too shallow for a good soak. At the time of check in I was given no information about the breakfast or amenities, I was barely even spoken to other than to be told there would be a water outage on one of the days I was staying. On top of that, I was even charged more than it was confirmed for on my Booking.com reservation. Not a lot extra, but that is not the point. Just all round poor hospitality, which is made a lot more obvious because I’ve been in Japan for an entire month and have had nothing but excellent service at most other hotel I’ve stayed in, including three other Toyoko Inns in different locations. Staff seemingly put out by having to do their job, upon leaving I was ignored at the checkout counter, and they served someone who arrived after me. I wouldn’t stay here again, and if I were you I’d go somewhere else, where your patronage is appreciated.
As a solo traveller, it was a great stay. The location is perfect, close to one of the most bustling areas of Tokyo, but not too close to be bothered by the noise. Two minute walk from the subway, also very close to Shinjuku Gyoen, a huge, lovely park. Breakfast buffet with a somewhat limited selection, but tasty nonetheless. Other facilities also present in the lobby. The room was ok, with a nice view of Docomo Tower at night. If you have lots of baggage you might have trouble finding space for them. A little cold at night but the AC could warm it quickly if needed. Bed is a little hard, but didn't bother me personally.Ammenities are not resupplied every day, you have to pick them up from the lobby (positive for me as I appreciate waste reduction). Clean bathroom with hot water (although you might run into trouble nailing the right temperature) and nice toilet.Had limited interaction with staff but they were all very friendly, especially the ladies who were preparing breakfast. Check-in and check-out are done through an automated system, so no worries if you can't speak Japanese.
Minor nitpicks here and there but nothing to ruin it for me. If you just need a place to sleep at night and have a hearty breakfast in the morning you shouldn't be too bothered by them.
Great location, friendly staff. Good view and lovely park 5 minute walk away. Room was quite small, like they usually are in Japan but had enough space for myself! Good ameneties, including conditioner for hair and toothbrushes etc. Breakfast was simple but good. 2 washers and 2 dryers downstair, what you can use for a small prize. I felt like home in here. Nice place to return to after a long day. I am going to stay in this same inn at the end of my trip, and I'm already looking forward to it! Also as a woman, it was really nice to have a desk and a mirror in front of a window.
Shower temperature was kinda hard to adjust, but got used to it.
Excellent location close to metro station and 10-15 min walk to Shinjuku entertainment. Lots of small restaurants in the area. Hotel was very clean. Had everything we needed. Included breakfast made mornings easy. Staff very helpful. Excellent value for money for location. Would stay again.
A good little room with a nice bathroom. Good location and the staff were friendly.
The beds were a bit hard, and there were a few sirens each night.
Great value, great location near a station and stores and food. Easy check in and easy check out. Good breakfast
Beds on the firm side. Only one buckwheat? Pillow.
The room size was as I expected, and the bathroom was exceptionally clean. The amenities were also very complete, which I really appreciated. The hotel is located just a 15-minute walk from Shinjuku Station, but there is also a closer station called Shinjuku Gyoenmae Station, only a 3-minute walk away. Additionally, there are many convenience stores within a 3 to 6-minute walk from the hotel.
The thing is I booked 2 to 3 months before my actual date. And it seems that I went during the high season, so there is no non-smoking room available. Therefore, the room that I got is the smoking room, which its smell was quite strong.
It is good that the breakfast is included in the rate, however, the quality of the food is so so.
1. the English of the stuff should be really improved. 2. the check-in time is too late: 4pm! I never have such last check-in time. and I was told if I pay YEN1500 to join the club, then I can get the room key one-hour early. I refused. 3. the check-out time is too early: 10am! If I have to check-out at 12 pm, which is the regular check-out time, then I have to pay YEN 2000. I refused too.
I traveled alone, although the room size is slightly smaller than standard double room size in Europe, but the room had everything I needed. It was very well organised room, had everything as described. I’ve read the reviews before I book, so I had expectations that pillow will be firm, but I had no issues with it at all. The location of the hotel is just perfect, it is about 10 minutes walking distance to main shinjuku shopping area, also close to a big park. But it’s at the quite street, with lots of shops and restaurants around, so it’s not noisy at all but very convenient. The receptionist was also very friendly, I’ve arrived in the morning, so they stored my suitcase before check in for free. It was a perfect day for me to check shinjuku. My room also had breakfast included, it is Japanese style breakfast, it’s not very fancy, but the food is decent and dining area was very clean and quiet. They’ve also provide coffee, which was a huge plus for me. I would definitely come back to this place, not sure if they offer bigger room if you are couple, but for solo traveller, the room was perfect! And after staying in other area, I appreciated more of this hotel’s location. That just made everything so convenient! Only 3 minutes away from underground station.
It was a great experience overall, if I had to pick one, maybe the receptionist’s English could be better. They were all very friendly, but I had to ask something and it wasn’t anything major, but I could imagine if something comes up, communication would be a problem.
